• Puratos Romania, the subsidiary of the global leader in the production of ingredients for the bakery, pastry-confectionery and chocolate industries, announced for 2018 a 6% higher turnover than in 2017, and the business growth was based on investments in expansion and re-technology .
Puratos Romania recorded a turnover of 152,648 million RON (32,730 million euros) from the sale of raw materials and ingredients for the food sector, an annual advance of 6%, in line with the growth forecasts for the financial year ended on December 31, 2018. In the same period, the company produced 22.163 tons of ingredients locally, exceeding by 15% the production of the previous financial year. The segment with the most pronounced evolution of demand is that of hydrated and infused cereals, with a 120% increase, followed by the portfolio of active and inactive yeasts. 
In 2018, Puratos invested over 2 million lei, both in the modernization of the production lines of the factory located in Ilfov county, and of the Innovation Center in Bucharest. The purpose of the investment was to expand the innovation space and purchase high-performance equipment for a 2 square meter laboratory, where the research team and technical consultants will stimulate innovation in bakery, pastry and chocolate.

Puratos Romania's investment strategy includes measures to optimize the carbon footprint in production and distribution operations, programs to support communities producing raw raw materials from responsible sources (in particular, cocoa and palm oil) and training and development opportunities professional in the food sector for young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
Puratos Romania operates through two innovation centers in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca and a network of representatives in 12 counties. The manufacturer supplies raw materials to more than 2.500 active customers in the industrial, craft, retail and HORECA sectors in Romania and exports various categories of products to Puratos subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, Hungary, Kosovo, Serbia and Israel.
