The main objective of Agency for the Quality and Marketing of Agri-Food Products is the increase in the number of quality systems recognized at European level for Romanian agri-food products and product certification according to optional quality systems established at national and European level, in order to promote them. Among the Agency's attributions are the development, implementation and promotion of the national strategy for quality products, the development and implementation of marketing programs, their recognition and certification, as well as the identification and implementation of specific funding sources for the certification of agricultural holdings of small producers/processors.
The Agency for the Quality and Marketing of Agri-Food Products is a public institution, with legal personality, financed from its own revenues and subsidies granted from the state budget. It will exercise the function of state authority in the field of quality and marketing of quality products and will have the role of ensuring the preparation and proposal for approval of the strategy for the development of the sector of quality products and will represent it internally and externally, on behalf of MADR, in the field his activity and within the limits established by him.

Law on establishment Agency for the Quality and Marketing of Agri-Food Products, an institution that will be subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, was promulgated on Thursday, July 11, by the President of Romania and will operate from 2020.
