Salon du Chocolat Paris returns with its 26th edition, this time at its traditional venue, the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center in the French capital. Last year, the Paris chocolate event was held online due to the pandemic. The show, which attracts 150.000 visitors each year, is one of the most prestigious public events in the "chocolate calendar". Chocolate lounge it opened on October 28 and will delight and sweeten its visitors for 5 days.
At Salon du Chocolat Paris, famous paintings and chocolate fashion parade
During the five days, visitors can taste and buy delicious chocolate products, meet producers and farmers who grow cocoa, talk to famous chocolatiers, admire chocolate sculptures and a fashion show where beautiful models wear the sweet outfits chocolate. Other points of interest are the already famous work in chocolate, "Guernica", a sweet replica of Picasso's painting by a group of Basque artisans, as well as a bust of Napoleon by chocolatier Jean-Luc Decluzeau. The chocolatier will present a bas-relief inspired by Jacques-Louis David's painting "Bonaparte franchissant le Grand Saint-Bernard". The work is made with over 100 kg of chocolate and 1,65 meters wide and 1,10 meters high. This work is the result of over 120 hours of work.
Famous pastry chefs and confectioners on the specially arranged stage, Pastry Show
The patisserie has a separate space at this edition as well, after the success recorded at the 2019 edition. Renowned pastry chefs and confectioners will give live demonstrations and prepare their favorite pastry products right in front of the visitors. Fans will have the opportunity to meet chef Sophie de Bernardi from Café de la Paix, alongside Tristan Rousselot and Pierre Chirac.
According to tradition, spectacular competitions will be organized, among which "Trophée International de la Pâtisserie” and "Mondial des Arts Sucrés".
The theme of the event is Christmas.
