On Thursday, April 16, Marcel Vela presented Military Ordinance 9. One of the measures announced is the waiver of the ban on the export of cereals, as well as bakery, pastry and biscuit products, provided for in Military Ordinance 8, of April 9.
Thus, the export of cereals, but also of bakery products, pastries and biscuits can be resumed.
"Another important point refers to the ban on the export of wheat and derived products, which was specified and imposed in Military Ordinance 8. The articles prohibiting this export cease to be applicable, because following the discussions the perspective was achieved and the purchase necessary for replenishing the state reserve, so that food security is ensured until the next harvest. From now on, I am announcing to producers and traders that this export is no longer prohibited", said the minister.
A week ago, by Military Ordinance 8, Romania suspended the export of several agricultural products, such as wheat, barley, oats, corn, rice, wheat flour, as well as bakery products, pastries, biscuits, even with the addition of cocoa; wafers, empty boxes of the type used for medicines, wafers with lids, dry pasta made of flour, starch or starch in sheets and similar products.
