• The Dulcinella confectionery chain from the Republic of Moldova is expanding its operations in Romania, becoming a national brand.
This month, the company will open four new ones confectioneries in Bucharest, Iasi and Suceava. Following an investment of 300.000 euros, the new locations will be located in malls, including Promenada Mall and Mega Mall in Bucharest, as well as Iulius Mall Suceava and Palas Iași.
Dulcinella entered the Romanian market in 2019 and opened more than 20 stores in 10 cities, seven of which are located in Bucharest. Founded in 2005 in the Republic of Moldova, Dulcinella is now owned by Cornelius H Group, a British investment fund with ties to the Republic of Moldova, which took over the company this year.
"Opening new locations is part of our expansion strategy. Our goal is to maximize the potential of the brand through locations with the highest visibility, traffic and customer convenience, so that we can develop, in the long term, the Dulcinella brand nationally"Sergiu Diaconu, the representative of Dulcinella shareholders, told the press.

New products in the portfolio
The company is also introducing new products such as profiteroles, premium cake platters, eclairs and filled donuts, which will be available at all locations. "We constantly study the consumption behavior of Romanians in terms of sweets produced by pastries and we manage to adapt quite quickly to current trends. We believe that Romania is an excellent market that has only reached 25% of its potential in terms of the segment of sweets and quality pastries", added Sergiu Diaconu.
In addition to the new locations, Dulcinella has stores in cities such as Bacău, Botoșani, Roman, Piatra Neamț, Pașcani and Fălticeni. With the factory located in Târgu Neamț and over 120 employees, Dulcinella continues to strengthen its presence on the Romanian market.
