ANSVSA checks the places where cozonacs are sold

Inspectors from the National Sanitary, Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) and those from the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) have intensified checks on the ground before the Easter Holidays. Units active in the food sector are targeted, whether we are talking about the sale of cakes, eggs or lamb.

Inspectors will also check confectioneries, patisseries or confectionery-pastry laboratories

The controls aim to verify compliance with veterinary sanitary conditions and for food safety in all agro-food markets, slaughterhouses and slaughter centers with temporary activity, meat cutting units, animal and non-animal food processing and storage units, as well as in sales units retail (confectioneries, patisseries, confectionery/pastry laboratories, but also grocers, butchers, public catering units, pizzerias, canteens, catering units, tourist hostels, hypermarket/supermarket units, grocery stores, etc.), transmit the ANSVSA representatives .

Each county directorate of DSVSA has established a work program in the period until May 1, 2021, "on the basis of which the veterinarians and specialized inspectors will carry out controls and checks on the way in which the veterinary sanitary conditions and for food safety are respected, in the objectives subject to sanitary-veterinary control and for food safety", it is stated in the DSVSA press release. While there are special conditions for the marketing of meat, fish and milk, "other traditional food products: muffins, cakes, bakery products, seasonal vegetables, etc. they can be marketed in prepared and registered or authorized sanitary-veterinary premises, under the control of the specialist staff of the county DSVSA, respectively of the municipality of Bucharest", emphasizes ANSVSA.

If, during the veterinary sanitary controls, it is found that the veterinary sanitary and food safety conditions are not respected, depending on the seriousness of the deviations found, the inspectors from the DSVSA will suspend the activity of the respective unit until all deficiencies are remedied, they will apply sanctions contraventions, they will officially detain food products that may constitute a danger to the health of citizens, directing them to neutralization units.
