The beginning of August brings a slight increase in the price of wheat FOB Constanța, respectively by 21 lei/ton. According to the data provided by the officials of the Romanian Commodity Exchange, the average price of wheat was 805 lei/ton in the last week of July, and currently it has reached an average price of 826 lei/ton.
At the regional level, the price of wheat is still lower, not exceeding 700 lei/ton. The price of bread wheat is higher than feed wheat, but not very different:

- Price of wheat for baking East Zone: 688 lei/ton
- Wheat price for baking West Zone: 686 lei/ton
- Price of wheat for baking South Zone: 675 lei/ton
- Bread wheat price FOB Constanța: 826 lei/ton
Feed wheat prices 2019 (between July 31 and August 6)
- Feed wheat price East Zone: 670 lei/ton
- Feed wheat price West Zone: 603 lei/ton
- Feed wheat price South Zone: 664 lei/ton
Farmers are making little money, both because of the low price and because of quality problems with grain affected by Fusarium wilt. This situation is felt most acutely in the western area, being also the largest region where the crops were attacked by the Fusarium fungus.
The price of wheat on the international market
- MATIF wheat (Paris Stock Exchange) – the price drops by 0,4%, reaching 170 euros/ton. It is the lowest price recorded between May 15 and August 7, 2019.
- CBoT Wheat (Chicago Stock Exchange) – the price increases by 0,9%, reaching 179,40 dollars/ton.
