• Grupo Bimbo inaugurated the Bimbo Interactive Museum (MiBimbo) on December 2, an event that marks the 80th anniversary of the company's founding.
Located in Mexico City, the museum tells the story of the transformation of a small local bakery, opened in 1945, into one of the largest bakery companies in the world, present today in 39 countries.
"Today, December 2, the over 153.000 collaborators of Bimbo Group "We celebrate with gratitude and pride the first 80 years of our company – 80 years in which we grew together", said Daniel Servitje, executive chairman of Grupo Bimbo. "We do it by inaugurating the Bimbo Interactive Museum, a space where we honor the past, celebrate the present, and imagine the future of all those who have contributed with 'a grain' of flour, as we like to say."
The museum will open to the public on January 20 and features 11 interactive areas. Visitors will discover the bakery's tradition, the manufacturing processes behind its iconic products, the company's connection to agriculture, innovations based on science and technology, community involvement through the Buen Vecino program, and sustainability commitments.
With a capacity of 500 people at a time, MiBimbo estimates it will welcome over 220.000 visitors in its first year. A portion of the ticket revenue will be directed to social and environmental causes.
"This museum will support various causes, including the conservation of the Mexican black bear, an endangered species," said Karina Fogel, the museum's director"Through the Huellas program, MiBimbo will allocate a portion of ticket proceeds to initiatives that include scientific monitoring, the protection of biological corridors, and the rescue of endangered species, in collaboration with institutions such as the Museo del Desierto, the Chipinque Reserve, and SEMARNAT (Mexico's Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources)."
