Start of the week at the Euronext stock exchange

• European markets are starting the week hesitantly, as several important reports will be published in the coming days.

USDA will open the suite of reports on Tuesday with an adjustment in global balance sheets, followed on Wednesday by MPOB with the Malaysian palm oil balance sheet. Finally, CONAB will come at the end of the week to highlight the magnitude of Brazil's balance sheets. These publications fuel uncertainty and should undoubtedly generate volatility, even though, in many cases, analysts did not wait for the official data to be released.

Another point in focus: the decision of the FED (US Central Bank) to cut interest rates or not at its conference on Wednesday. With another 25 basis point cut expected, the dollar index is falling, which automatically causes an increase in the euro/dollar parity, which is now approaching 1,1650.

This situation does not favor French exporters, who face particularly active Argentine competition, especially with regard to the destination of Morocco.

In the oilseeds segment, rapeseed manages to stay above the €475/t threshold on the Euronext February maturity. However, a downward trend is emerging in this market, with soybeans returning below $11/bushel, while canola continues to decline, geopolitically influenced by the absence of Chinese operators in the markets.

In Ukraine, Argus media announces an estimated wheat production of 23,9 million tons for the 2026 harvest, compared to 23 million tons this year, mainly due to increased areas and favorable sowing conditions.
