Local producers can sell their products online, at Mall Șărănesc

Association We grow Romania together carried out the project Peasant Mall, an online platform and mobile application that allows Romanian producers to market their products directly to customers. The Peasant Mall concept, also supported by Patria Bank, aims to strengthen the relationship between city families and country households, promoting food and handicrafts created by small producers. Currently, more than 1300 households from the whole country are registered.

Practically, the platform aims to develop an ecosystem in which the products of small farmers or small entrepreneurs reach the tables of customers in the city. "By buying from them, you're feeding two families: yours and theirs!" is the slogan under which the project is promoted. Mall Țărănesc benefits both local producers and customers. On the one hand, manufacturers enjoy an online space dedicated only to them, where they can make their products known. On the other hand, customers have the opportunity to consume Romanian foods native and tasty. Thus, rural communities come closer to urban ones, creating a stronger bond between them.

Customers can view the available products and the map of households in the country on the website www.malltaranesc.ro and in the mobile app. The latter was released in February 2020 and has over 1000 downloads. The feedback from the online environment is positive, which proves that the project has potential.

The platform menu is organized into several categories of "Food Products" and "Craft Products". The subcategory "Pastry - bakery" currently includes 52 artisan products, from bread and wholemeal flour to pies, gingerbread, biscuits, croissants, scones and cookies.

The weekly basket with healthy products

The "Weekly Basket" is a service that ensures the delivery of authentic, seasonal products directly to customers' homes. Especially during the pandemic, the supply of natural products, sent by producers directly to your home, is a safe option for shopping. The weekly package contains fresh food from households within a maximum radius of 60 kilometers from the delivery address. A complete basket, containing bakery and pastry products, vegetables, fruit, dairy, meat and eggs, costs approximately 200 RON. In addition, the customer also has the option to put only the products he needs in the basket.

The bakery and pastry products that are part of the "Weekly basket" are: 1 kilogram of millet flour, 1 kilogram of wholemeal flour, 1 rustic bread, 500g of raisin cookies.
