Chefs and pastry chefs from India have prepared the longest cake in the world (6,5 km)

More than 1.500 chefs and pastry chefs from Kerala (India) prepared a vanilla cake 6,5 kilometers long, to enter the Guinness Book of Records. The dessert weighs 27.000 kilograms and is 10 centimeters thick and 10 centimeters high.

The vanilla cake was decorated by hand with white and dark chocolate ornaments, and 12.000 kilograms of flour and sugar were used for its composition. The chefs and pastry chefs needed about 4 hours to prepare the huge dessert. The entire event took place in a festival space in the city of Thrissur, Kerala, where thousands of tables were set up.

"This is an effort to show the whole world our skills", said Naushad, the leader of the organizing association Bakers Association Kerala (BAKE).

experts Guinness those present at the event have not approved the record yet, on the grounds that more time is needed to deliberate.

The previous record is held by Chinese pastry chefs from Zixi who created a cake 3,2 kilometers long. Chinese fruit cake was prepared at the event Zixi Bread International Tourism Festival from 2018 and was tasted by over 5.000 people. The dessert is called "The Chinese Dragon” (“China Dragon"), and 60 confectioners and 120 confectioner assistants contributed to its creation.
