Paris Stock Exchange - quotations at the beginning of the week

• Cereal prices moderated on the Euronext Paris Stock Exchange on 08.05.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX.

Earlier this week, despite concerns over the extension of the Ukrainian grain export corridor, which ends on May 18, prices on the Paris grain exchange trended slightly lower.

Globally, economic growth does not seem to be in sight, which causes concern in the financial environment, thus also influencing the raw materials sector.

From a climatic point of view, the rainfall of the last weeks in France has resulted, for the time being, in a satisfactory overall crop assessment.

Internationally, Algeria buys soft wheat of undisclosed origin. Russian grains remain competitive, causing tensions among traders. The price level proposed last week at the Egyptian auction, below the threshold of $275/fob, was surprising, given that Russia had announced that this threshold would be a floor for its exports. At the same time, about 90 ships are waiting for authorization to cross the Strait of Hormuz.

The US stock market in Chicago was down yesterday 8.05.2023/394.755/209.138 for all products in a gloomy economic context. This week's export figures were 963.351 tonnes for soybeans, XNUMX tonnes for wheat and XNUMX tonnes for corn.

right USDA, 49% of corn and 35% of soybeans are already planted, and the wheat crop assessment for this week's start was 29% forecast as good to excellent, up 1 point from the previous week. However, this was not enough to support prices. The next USDA report will be published on Thursday, 11.05.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX.
