• The WorldSkills Confectionery and Bakery Olympiad will take place on Friday, February 17, 2023, in Cluj-Napoca.
Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Innovation Center BAKERY SCHOOL from Cluj-Napoca, the only dual-system school in Romania dedicated to the bakery, pastry and confectionery industry in Romania established by Puratos Romania, the WorldSkills Confectionery and Bakery Olympiad will take place.
In the competition, held under the format WorldSkills and recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Education, talented children, future bakers and confectioners will compete.
The Olympiad is hosted by Bakery School Romania together with Marin Grigore Nastase Technological High School, Tărtășești – Dâmbovița and Technological High School No. 1, Cluj-Napoca, with the support of the Cluj-Napoca City Hall and the Cluj County School Inspectorate.
The competition will start at 08.30 with the tests for Confectionery-Pastry. The tests for this specialization will last until 12.30:XNUMX p.m., when the evaluation of the dishes will begin.
Between 13.30-17.30 the test for the bakery specialization will take place. 22 students will participate in the Olympiad, representing 6 high schools in the country.
Judging is done by experts
Bakery School will be represented by two teams of two children for each specialization. The jury consists of two Belgian experts and two local specialists for each specialization. They will note the accuracy of the recipe, the respect of time, and, last but not least, the taste.
The winning teams will receive intensive training internships abroad, alongside international experts, as well as the opportunity to represent Romania at the EuroSkills 2023 European Olympiad, which will take place from September 5 to 9, 2023 in Gdansk, Poland.
Bakery School Romania is the only dual system school in Romania dedicated to the confectionery, pastry and bakery industry. In September 2022, Bakery School opened its second school in Cluj-Napoca, in partnership with Technological High School No. 1, Cluj-Napoca.
