Gastropan 2024 – the 15th edition focused on digitization, sustainability and clean label

• The 15th edition of GastroPan 2024, the international exhibition of solutions, technologies, equipment, raw materials, ingredients, utensils and packaging for the Romanian bakery, confectionery and HoReCa industry, has ended.

Held between March 14-16, in Brașov, the Lux Divina center, the GastroPan Exhibition brought together the supply and demand for the bakery, confectionery and HoReCa sector in one place.

Manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of products and services in the industry presented their solutions in the stands of the profile exhibition, with GastroPan once again offering events, competitions and debates on industry-specific topics.

Digitization, craftsmanship and sustainability, trends that revolutionize the industry and dictate the agenda of companies in the sector, were at the center of several debates, being the main topics addressed in the three exhibition halls (Lux Divina, Dacia, Parc).

Nova Pan Group at Expo GastroPan 2024

After several years of absence, Nova Pan Group has returned to Expo GastroPan for this 15th edition, presenting its varied range of products and services for industry professionals at the stand. In the Brand area Confectioner Isteț demonstrations of printing on edible sheets or directly on products were held, and visitors could learn about modern and efficient working techniques in making or decorating products.

At the Nova Pan stand, professionals in the field were able to discover a diverse range of equipment, produced by renowned companies, learning through the #RatePentruToti campaign and how simple it is to purchase the desired equipment when a financing solution is required.

By participating in this event, Nova Pan Group reaffirmed its position as a reliable partner for manufacturers in the sector. "It was a joy to meet our customers again here at this new edition of GastroPan. After a few years of absence, I prepared a stand at the exhibition where, in addition to the utensils and accessories of the Cofetarul Isteț Brand, I included some equipment for small and medium producers. Nova Pan will continue to do industrial projects, as it has always done, but on this occasion, we have demonstrated that we are also with these producers, who will certainly in a few years also become the beneficiaries of these industrial projects." stated Marius Costea, Sales Director of the Nova Pan company.

Cake of the Year 2024 and Bread of the Year 2024

With the theme "clean label baked goods", the contest "Bread of the Year 2024" designated the bread as the winner "Flour Magic" produced by the bakery Bocskor Pékség. This bread was made from wheat flour, whole spelled flour, whole rye flour, wild yeast, oat flakes, yogurt and salt. The novelty was the use of boiled flour (to replace food additives), and the production process involved long fermentation, without the addition of yeast.

Excellence Award to the category "Artisanal Bread" GastroPan 2024 was awarded to Banat Pie with mayo and tender pastrami, produced by the bakery "Mary's Mill". With a crispy crust, a soft dough and a special taste, this pita was made from flour, mayo, water and salt, to which were added slices of tender pastrami.

Innovation Award at the second edition of the Student Cup, the bakery - pastry category was won by the product FIA  (Faculty of Food Engineering Timisoara) Cranberry Dessert, being a fiber-rich dessert, intended for people who want to follow a low-glycemic diet: cranberry flour and spelled wheat flour, coconut yogurt cream, blueberries and raspberries, and the sugar has been replaced with date powder.

Sedimentary "Fruit of Life", produced by the team Alex confectionery from Moreni, impressed the jury with its appearance, taste and innovative features related to the clean label, being designated The cake of 2024.
