• On 13.04.2022, the Romanian Parliament adopted the Law for the amendment and completion of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 114/2018.
Following the adoption of this Laws, Adrian Chesnoiu, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development declares: "In all the meetings I have had with the representatives of farmers and operators in the food industry, the preservation of the specialized workforce has always been a central point of the dialogue. By adopting this normative act, initiated together with my fellow parliamentarians, we come up with the solutions expected by those who work in these vital fields for Romania's food security".
This law brings tax benefits to people working in the field of agriculture and the food industry, benefits similar to those granted to employees in the field of construction.
The main measures established by the Law of 13.04.2022
The measures established by the Law for the amendment and completion of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 114/2018 regarding the adoption of actions in the field of public investments and fiscal-budgetary measures, the amendment and completion of some normative acts and the extension of some deadlines are as follows:
1. Exemption from paying the 10% salary tax, from payments related to social health insurance contributions and the 3,75% reduction in the social insurance contribution rate.
2. The gross minimum basic salary per country guaranteed in payment will be 3000 lei per month, not including allowances, increments and other additions, for a work schedule of 167 hours/month.
3. Employees will benefit from the rights granted by the insurance system for work accidents and occupational diseases, by the unemployment insurance system, including leave and health insurance allowance, without employers paying the insurance contribution for work.
4. The periods worked in the agricultural sector will constitute a contribution period for establishing the right to unemployment allowance and allowance for temporary incapacity for work.
