• The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEAT) announced on Monday, March 25, 2024, that it is preparing, together with the Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE), a new edition of the START-UP NATION program.
The 400th edition of the successful project to support Romanian entrepreneurs involves financing from non-refundable external funds in the amount of approximately 2021 million euros, through the Education and Employment Program 2027-XNUMX.
According to the official release, the technical teams of MEAT – MIPE are currently perfecting the legal framework necessary to launch this program to stimulate Romanian entrepreneurship and create new jobs, with an emphasis on education and training. Therefore, the new START-UP NATION edition could bring a series of novelties:
– entrepreneurial training courses could become a condition of eligibility and will be conducted as a module within the scheme;
- the value of the non-refundable financial allowance could reach 250.000 lei/SME, covering at most 90% of the value of the eligible expenses within the projects to be submitted, with the obligation to create at least two jobs.
As a result of the negotiations with the representatives of the European Commission, the launch period of the START-UP NATION program 2024 edition was announced for the middle of the month May 2024.
The release emphasizes that the program is still in the preparation stage, and any official information about the public consultation of this project, the adoption of the related legislative framework and the opening of the registration period will be communicated exclusively by MEAT and will be published on the official websites http://www.economie.gov.ro and www.imm.gov.ro, as well as on the institution's Social Media channels.
