• A rather quiet start to the week for European wheat and corn, which have fluctuated constantly in quotes recently.
Last week's worries about the poor condition of Russian wheat and the latest rains in Australia have faded into the background. The problem of the export competitiveness of European origins thus reappears in a context which, in the short term, is still highly contested on the international stage. The report WAS THE from December of USDA will be closely watched for both European and Russian wheat.
Both canola and canola are recovering strongly from Friday's downward correction, confirming their current uptrend.
In the US market, prices are adjusting at the close of trading in Chicago, pending the USDA's monthly report today, December 10, 2024. A decline in US corn stocks is forecast, linked to a likely increase in the export and consumption outlook of ethanol of the country. This supports March 2025 prices, which have returned to resistance levels of $4,40/bu.
Wheat is rising moderately, as is corn, while U.S. wheat stocks are expected to remain steady in Tuesday's USDA report.
On the other hand, the soybean market remains generally pessimistic about the idea of a possible upward reassessment of soybean stocks both in the United States and globally by the USDA.
