Froneri acquires Food Union's European business, including the Alpin brand in Romania

• The global ice cream giant, Froneri, recently announced that it will take over the European operations of Food Union, which includes the popular Alpin ice cream brand, well-known on the Romanian market.

The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, targets all of Food Union's European markets, namely Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia (excluding dairy products), Lithuania and Romania.

According to the official release, the financial details of the acquisition were not made public. Through this strategic move, froneri consolidates its position on the European market, integrating into its portfolio beloved brands from Romania, such as Transalpina and Fulg de Nea, along with other emblematic brands of Food Union.

Soren Lauridsen, Executive Chairman of Food Union, stressed the importance of this transaction: “Froneri is the global benchmark in the ice cream industry and we are delighted that our flagship brands in Romania, such as Transalpina, Fulg de Nea and others, have found a perfect home alongside a truly world-class leader.
