• Euronext quotes from 22.09.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX continue to demonstrate price volatility in grain trading markets.
The price of wheat on the Euronext exchange continues to rise. The same thing happens with the price of other grains. The increase in grain prices on trading exchanges is driven by the tensions of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The referendums that were announced for the Ukrainian regions under the influence of the separatists, as well as the launch by Vladimir Putin of the mobilization of reservists from the Russian army, demonstrate a deepening of the existing conflict.
Ukrainian authorities announce a further reduction of the wheat harvest for the 2022-2023 marketing year. Although analysts are forecasting an increase in wheat production in Russia, Russian wheat exports are estimated at only 36,5 million tons, leading to increased stocks in the country. On the Chicago Stock Exchange, wheat price fluctuations are further supported by uncertainties about the Ukrainian grain export corridor.
Another factor that is having its mark on the upward quotations on the grain trading exchanges is the rise of the dollar against the euro, which makes EU wheat more competitive internationally.
