Since 2001, the date October 16 marks World Bread Day (World Bread Day), an international celebration dedicated to this staple product that is on every table. In 1980, the UN General Assembly decided to celebrate World Food Day on October 16, and 18 years ago, the International Union of Bakers (UIB) established that bread should also be raised on this day high ranking. Is it a coincidence that food and bread are celebrated worldwide on the same day? Probably not, considering the fact that bread is a product that is the basis of the daily diet, accompanying almost any culinary preparation.
World Bread Day is celebrated annually in approximately 30 countries on all continents, including Romania, where bread consumption is well above the European average.
In this context, on October 16 of each year, bakers and companies in the bakery industry organize various activities with and about bread, thus trying to show consumers the true value of this product with origins of thousands of years.
