• October 16 of each year is dedicated to food.
According to the decision established by the UN General Assembly, since 1980, on October 16 we celebrate World Food Day (World Food Day). This date coincides with World Bread Day. This year marks 19 years since the International Union of Bakers (UIB) decided that the day dedicated to food should coincide with the day on which bread would be elevated to a high rank. World Bread Day is celebrated annually in approximately 30 countries on all continents, including Romania.
In addition, since 2012, the National Day of the Association of Food Industry Specialists is also celebrated in Romania on October 16.
In our country, bread consumption is above the European average, but here the price of bread is much lower comparing the price in other European countries. Due to the much lower standard of living compared to developed countries, bread still has a meaning strong for Romanians.
Being a universal product, found in most civilizations, for many peoples still a subsistence product, bread remains the indispensable basic food even today and that is why it must REDEEM more.
Today, October 16, we propose to celebrate World Bread Day through two manifesto texts!
,,THE CELEBRATION OF BREAD” is an “Italian Opera for the East”, which dates from 1929 and which you can find published on Facebook page of the Nova Pan company.

THE CELEBRATION OF BREAD
LOVE BREAD,
the heart of the house,
Perfume of the tables,
The joy of ovens.
RESPECT THE BREAD,
sweat of the forehead,
pride of work,
Poem of sacrifices.
HONOR THE BREAD,
the triumph of the fields,
the smell of the earth,
The celebration of life.
DON'T WASTE THE BREAD,
the wealth of the country,
The sweetest gift from God,
The most holy prize
For man's work.
The second text-manifesto is a poem written by Ștefan Octavian Iosif after an ancient German song, a poem published in Sămănătorul magazine on March 23, 1908.
A poem with a powerful and moving message, which reminds us that Bread is the most precious good of us, of all! You can find her on the same Facebook page, are here!

— I am hungry, dear mother; isn't it bread?
I'm hungry, and you know I'm going to die!
- Be patient, mother's child, until tomorrow,
That tomorrow the plow comes out in the field.
— I am hungry, dear mother; isn't it bread?
Unfortunately, you kept putting me off for a long time...
- Be patient, mother's child, until tomorrow,
That tomorrow we will go out to sow...
— I am hungry, dear mother; isn't it bread?
Are you not afraid that you will die?
- Be patient, mother's child, until tomorrow,
That the wheat will rise until the hand...
— I am hungry, dear mother; isn't it bread?
See, my heart beats less and less...
- Be patient, mother's child, until tomorrow,
That our wheat is at the mill.
— I am hungry, dear mother; isn't it bread?
Ah, I'm so afraid to die...
- Be patient, mother's child, until tomorrow,
Because tomorrow we take the bread out of the oven...
But when the smell of baked bread grew,
Mummy's scent, yellow as an ear of corn,
He had bowed his brow overnight,
And since then he hasn't asked for anything.
