• Tuba Geçkil, famous pastry chef from Turkey, conquered the whole world with his hyper-realistic cakes.
• Through Social Media, Tuba shares his art in dessert creation, often reproducing everyday objects into edible masterpieces.
In a somewhat blasé world and increasingly difficult to capture, the expression "everything is a cake" („everything is cake" ) has taken on a new meaning, literally, thanks to the sensational works of a pastry artist named Tuba Geçkil.
His works are so meticulous, so disturbingly realistic, that the moment Tuba posted a video showcasing his edible creations, it quickly went viral on all social media platforms. Social media videos show Geçkil cutting or biting into seemingly ordinary objects – a succulent plant, a shoe, a bag, a coffee cup – and revealing their true nature: surprise cookies!

Universe of innovation and creativity
Tuba's posts have become a true cultural phenomenon that captures the very essence of his artistry. As the knife slices through what your mind registers as inedible, the revelation becomes a moment of pure wonder, a delight that resonates with the inner child of millions of viewers. Video thus transcends barriers of language or culture, speaking the universal dialect of innovation and creativity.

The journey of the Confectionery and Academy founder Red Rose Cake and her passion for art in the pastry lab began with painting. Tuba discovered early on the talent to paint in detail everything that surrounded her: commonly used objects, animals, people, nature. Over time, the Turkish pastry chef moved from the two-dimensional art of painting to the three-dimensional art of making cakes, not before perfecting, through courses, a multitude of skills such as sculpture, design, visual arts.
This uncanny ability to deceive the eye and delight the taste has made Geçkil a legend in the field of sweets. She is not just a simple pastry chef, but also a talented shaper of sugar paste, a marzipan magician, a visionary whose working medium happens to be flour, eggs and icing.

Two decades of creating edible illusions
Tuba Geçkil's debut in the world of edible art happened about two decades ago, in a much less digital world and where gastronomy had a traditionalist aesthetic. Over the years, she has perfected her craft and has not only kept up with the impressive evolution of cake design, she has gone a few steps ahead of the trends, becoming a trailblazer in a field where innovation knows no bounds.
And beyond the fame achieved online, Geçkil has also collected many awards on the high-profile international stage where he represents Turkey. In fact, he won four gold medals and one silver medal at the İKA Culinary Olympiad in Germany in 2016. One of his works that won him the gold medal was a set of edible busts that looked like Donald Trump, Angela Merkel and Bob Marley.

From making purses, Crocs, flower pots, to creating brick walls and even an edible Avatar character, his creativity knows no bounds. The channel of YouTube of the pastry chef, the profile of Instagram as well as TikTok abounds in its hyper-realistic creations. In addition, within the Red Rose Cake Academy, but also holding workshops in many other countries (USA, Brazil, England, India, France, Dubai, Bahrain), Tuba teaches, conducts workshops and educates others in the art of cake decorating and modeling in sugar paste.

Among the Turkish pastry chef's most challenging projects was an edible representation of the story "Beauty and the beast" for a festival. "We brought this story to life in an area of eight square meters. All the characters were made from cookie dough, chocolate and sugar. The figure of the Beast was two meters long and weighed 250 kilograms. It took days to build it", Geçkil stated for www.travelandleisureasia.com.

Transforming the ordinary into the magnificent
Tuba Geçkil's passion, the Red Rose Cake Confectionery and Academy are proof of the power possessed by creativity in gastronomy. And her work illustrates the beauty that can be found in the fusion of culinary arts and fine arts. In her cakes and tarts, the line between edible and inedible blurs, the imagination is free, and the banal is reinvented into the magnificent. The success that Tuba has achieved is not due to the surprise or visual tricks that his creations trigger, but is the reaffirmation of the fact that, in the hands of a master, the possibilities are infinite and everything can become… "cake".
