The first grain exports from Ukraine

• Due to the Russian invasion, which blocked maritime transport, the first grain exports from Ukraine reach Europe by rail.

As Ukraine's seaports remain blocked due to the Russian invasion, the agricultural consulting firm APK - Inform announces the first exports of Ukrainian corn to Europe, carried out by traders by rail.
A major global grain grower and exporter, Ukraine shipped almost all of its raw material exports, which before the war exceeded 5 million tons of grain monthly, from its ports on the Black Sea.
Given the significant amount of grain currently in storage in Ukraine, according to traders and agricultural officials, Ukraine may begin exporting by train to its western border.

First export by rail

APK– Inform announces in a report cited by Mediafax that "The first batches of several thousand tons of corn have already been exported through the western land border of Ukraine."
Buyers of Ukrainian corn purchased the grain at the DAP (Delivered At Place) price with 250 and 265 dollars / ton from Poland and the Baltic States and at 275 dollars / ton from Slovakia.
Ukrainian transport authorities pointed out that up to 600.000 tons of grain could leave Ukraine for Europe on trains every month.
At the same time, a week before, APK - Inform announced that between July 2021 and June 2022 grain exports from Ukraine could total 44 million tons.
