• The NOWEL story begins in 1925, when Antoni Nowakowski opens a small artisan bakery in Leoncin, near Warsaw.
Today, the company is one of the leading manufacturers of bakery products of the type "bake-off" from Poland and operates in more than 30 markets, including Romania. Its average daily production reaches approximately 500 tons of bakery products. Company NOWEL It has remained in the family's ownership over time and is currently managed by the third generation, with the active involvement of the fourth.
NOWEL specializes in products of the type "bake-off" – partially baked, then frozen and finished on site, at the point of sale. This model ensures the availability of fresh bread and bakery specialties throughout the day, while maintaining consistent quality. The development of specific products is supported by an in-house Research and Development Center, which is constantly working on new recipes and product formats.

Wide range of products
The company offers a wide portfolio of categories: baguettes (including artisanal varieties), rolls, loaves, sliced bread and snacks. Within this portfolio, NOWEL produces, among others, high-protein specialties and yeast-free bakery products. Since 2021, the company has also been developing its own premium product range "Stone Baked", based on natural yeast dough and prolonged fermentation, it is quickly gaining popularity both on the domestic market and for export.
Bakery and snack products segment "convenience" continues to grow dynamically throughout Europe, and NOWEL has been an active participant in this market for years. The company develops a wide range of products for this category, including buns for hot dog and sandwiches in various variations – classic, multigrain, graham or herb-based, widely used in the foodservice sector, retail, hotels and gas stations.

Regardless of the scale and diversity of its portfolio, production NOWEL is based on simple ingredients and natural processes. The company develops its products in accordance with the philosophy "clean label", relying on traditional methods, including prolonged fermentation. Its production facilities comply with international food safety standards, confirmed by BRC and IFS certifications, with periodic audits also being standard practice.
Steady growth
In recent years, NOWEL has been constantly investing in expanding its business and improving operational efficiency. In 2024, the company opened a new facility in Nowy Modlin, near Warsaw, increasing its production capacity and strengthening its export potential.
Currently, exports account for approximately 30% of total production. An important part of the company's development is also building a more sustainable supply chain. NOWEL is collaborating with NewCold, integrating production with an automated high-bay warehouse, which helps optimize transportation, emissions and energy consumption. The company is also developing the use of raw materials from regenerative agriculture.
Today, NOWEL combines operational scale with a strong focus on quality and long-term development, acting as a partner to retail chains and customers across multiple markets.
