• Interpack 2026 managed to materialize the energy of the entire processing and packaging industry, once again consolidating itself as the main global meeting platform for this sector.
The event held in Düsseldorf between May 7 and 13, 2026, concretely demonstrated how the transformation announced for years is already translating into real technologies, materials and processes, adapted to current requirements.
With 2.804 exhibitors from 65 countries and trade visitors from 161 countries, the 2026 edition was the largest in the history of the trade fair. The exhibition area was fully occupied and the dynamics in the halls confirmed the exceptional international interest: 75% of the visitors came from outside Germany and 28% from outside Europe. In addition, around 100 additional companies were present at Components, the trade fair for component suppliers. "It was a top Interpack. Crowded halls, intense exchanges of views and concrete projects showed the strength of this global community. Interpack remains the most important meeting place for the industry worldwide", said Thomas Dohse, Director of Interpack, at the end of the event.
The event took place in a context marked by profound transformations. The demand for packaged products continues to grow, but the requirements for materials, production systems and supply structures are changing rapidly. A central topic was the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), considered a turning point for the industry. In this context, exhibitors presented integrated solutions, in which materials, machines and processes are thought together, not in isolation, demonstrating a mature systemic approach.

Technology, materials and skills of the future
Automation, data-driven applications and flexible manufacturing concepts have moved from concept to industrial practice, being exposed as concrete solutions for smart manufacturingIn the area of materials, the focus was on realistic innovations that meet international regulatory requirements and work efficiently in real production conditions. At the same time, there was intensive discussion about the skills needed for the future – those digital and interdisciplinary skills required by connected and data-driven systems.
Beyond the exhibition stands, Interpack 2026 generated additional momentum through special programs: Interpack Spotlight Forum, SAVE FOOD Expert Talks, the Women in Packaging initiative, the dedicated area start-upand Young Talents Day. These events broadened the perspective, addressing topics such as sustainability, diversity, entrepreneurial culture and the development of young talents.
Interpack 2026 remains more than just a successful trade fair. It is proof of an industry that faces major challenges with the power of innovation, international cooperation and the determination to actively shape the future. The unique combination of international density, technical depth and the spirit of new beginnings defined this edition.
The next Interpack edition will take place in 2029. The exact date will be announced soon.
