• The 28th edition of Bakery China, one of the most important events dedicated to the baking, confectionery and chocolate industry worldwide, is preparing to open its doors between May 20 and 23, 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
Under the theme "Innovate Beyond • Premiere Fusion • Link Future", the exhibition promises to be a true meeting point for innovation, trends and international collaborations in the baking sector.
Organized by the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry and Bakery China Exhibitions, the event returns on an impressive scale. The exhibition area will exceed 330.000 mp, distributed in 13 rooms, hosting over 2.200 exhibitors from more than 70 countries and regionsIt is estimated that almost 400.000 professional visitors from fish 130 countries, which confirms the exhibition's status as a global reference platform.

A strong international presence
Over 20% of the exhibitors will be international brands, and the national pavilion will include countries with a strong tradition in the field, such as Germany, Italy and Japan. Alongside these, emerging brands from partner countries of the Belt and Road Initiative (also known as "The New Silk Road"), the large-scale strategic project for economic cooperation and infrastructure development launched by China. The number of pre-registrations of foreign visitors increased by 30% compared to the previous edition, a clear signal of the growing interest in the Chinese and Asian market.
The President of the Association, Zhang Jiukui, emphasized the strategic importance of the event: "With a history of nearly 30 years, Bakery China has become a pillar of the baking industry. The 2026 edition will provide valuable insights into market trends, changing consumer behavior and emerging innovations, thereby helping to shape the future of the sector."

Focus on innovation and global expansion
Bakery China 2026 marks a major first by hosting the first forum dedicated to the international expansion of Chinese companies. The event will address key issues such as compliance with international regulations, supply chain adaptation and brand localization.
Thousands of new products will be launched at the exhibition, covering raw materials, processing technologies and innovative business models. There will be a comprehensive product launch initiative, including an innovation competition and the launch of the Bakery China industry guide. Specialized zones will highlight major trends of the moment: healthy products, pre-prepared solutions (pre-made) and smart manufacturing.
In addition to the exhibition area, visitors will be able to enjoy professional competitions, live masterclasses, guided tours and a festival dedicated to coffee and bread – ideal moments for exchanging experiences, networking and discovering new trends.

Parallel event dedicated to chocolate
A notable novelty of the 2026 edition is the debut of China Chocolate Industry Exhibition, organized in parallel with Chocolate Industry Forum 2026It will showcase the entire value chain, from cocoa to finished products, bringing together top brands in the chocolate industry.
International expansion: Bakery ASEAN in Indonesia
For the first time, Bakery China is expanding its presence overseas. Between August 27 and 29, 2026 will take place Bakery ASEAN in Jakarta, Indonesia, exploring opportunities in the Southeast Asian regional baking market.
