Day of Romanian Agri-Food Products 2024 edition

• "Romanian Agricultural Products Day" will take place between October 10-12 in the MADR courtyard.

As in previous years, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) will celebrate on October 10, 2024 "National Day of Romanian Agri-Food Products" by organizing fairs and events at the national level.

Now in its eighth edition "National Day of Romanian Agri-Food Products", will also be celebrated in the MADR yard, with the support of the Caprirom Sud Muntenia Cooperative, between October 10 and 12, 2024, between 09:00 and 19:00, through an exhibition selling Romanian agri-food products.

Visitors are expected with a varied range of products registered on national quality schemes and European quality systems, traditionally certified products, products that have acquired the right to use the optional quality mention "mountain product", products with protected names, such as Geographical Indication Protected (PGI) for agri-food products and Geographical Indications for spirits (GI), organically certified products, meat preparations, milk, bakery and pastry products, vegetables, fresh and processed fruits, spirits and wine, honey, jams.

"I am happy to note that Romanian products are increasingly sought after, that Romanians are aware of the fact that Romanian products created by the diligent and skilled hands of farmers are the best, tasty and healthy, and by buying Romanian we can reward and promote local producers and develop Romanian agriculture", said Minister Florin-Ionuț BARBU.

Fair with sale

At the fair in the MADR courtyard, those interested will be able to purchase various assortments of jams, jams, juices and syrups and fresh seasonal vegetables: white and red cabbage, potatoes, garlic, tomatoes, cucumbers, white and red onions, potatoes, eggplants, radishes black grapes, pumpkins, cauliflower, fruits such as: organic grapes, apples, pears, plums will be available from producers in Dâmbovița, Buzău or Olt counties. Mustul, the drink specific to autumn, will not be missing from the fair, along with apples, plums, smoked plums, walnut kernels, brought by producers from Constanța and Vrancea counties.

From the counties of Argeș and Sibiu, products that have acquired European protection and represent Romania's calling card in terms of gastronomy and the preservation of European traditions and values ​​will be exhibited for sale: Magiun de prune Topoloveni (AG) - PGI from 2011, a renowned preparation and appreciated, without added sugar, Es, preservatives or additives, but also the well-known Telemea de Sibiu (SB) - PGI from 2019, a semitare sheep's milk cheese.

Ecological agriculture is represented at the fair by producers from Argeș and Sibiu counties, who will bring various types of honey: acacia honey, polyflora, linden, honeycombs, a mixture of honey with sea buckthorn and propolis with sea buckthorn.

Fish lovers will be able to choose from a wide range of trout products from Păstrăvăria Bușteni, registered as mountain products, such as: Zamorean Trout, Zamorean Trout with carrots, charred trout, battered and roasted trout, trout in tomato sauce, trout with vegetables, stewed trout with vegetables, pickled trout on zamora, trout in vegetable stew, pate of Zamorean trout liver, rainbow trout flustuc. At this event, those present will be able to taste pie filled with fish meat for the first time.

Several counties present their top products

From Vâlcea county, certified traditional products from the spirits category will be available: "Tăria lui Cătălin brandy" and "Tăria lui Cătălin fruit brandy", as well as the spirit drink "Sordony de Horezu plum brandy", which follows the stages of registration as an Indication Geographical.

Traditional products from Mureș county will be present at the fair, such as: homemade pita with potatoes - a natural product from Boianu, cash register from Boianu, colac with walnuts from Boianu, but also traditional meat and dairy products from Fundata commune , Brasov county.

Consumers will be able to choose from a wide range of preparations from the mountain area category: matured cheeses, various types of honey and other beehive products.

Also, sweets such as cozonac, varieties of gingerbread and homemade chocolate will be available at this autumn event, along with white, rose or red wines.

The guests of the fair will enjoy the seasonal flowers brought by the members of the Muntenia Flower Producers Association who will delight the eyes of all those who will cross the threshold of the fair organized on the occasion of the National Day of Romanian agri-food products.

Like every year, "National Day of Romanian Agri-Food Products" will be marked throughout the country through the organization of educational, voluntary, social and scientific programs and events, aimed at promoting Romanian agri-food products and gaining consumer trust.

For the first time, at the dedicated fair of the National Day of Romanian Agri-Food Products there will be a stand in which you have representatives Faculty of Engineering and Animal Production Management within USAMV will present innovative confectionery and pastry products obtained by PhD students and faculty students and will provide informative materials regarding the promotion of the educational offer.
